from brazil to argentina to chile, this is what we did after we moved away from china! boating and splashing on the beaches of brazil, hiking (and whining) through the 100mph winds of patagonia and climbing mountains in the dead of summer with sleet and snow, drinking wine in chile, salsa dancing in buenos aires and saying heyyy to the gravesite of mrs. eva peron, it was incredible!

we’re now settled into our new home in san francisco, california.

WAHHHH! Life is BUSY and life is good! As most of you know, December 22nd marks our final end date in this crazy China journey, can you believe it’s been over five years of this madness?! As a special treat, I bought myself this fun little toy and those images above come courtesy of my first roll. Am still playing around with the functions but overall very pleased with the splurge.

Look, if you’re in Shanghai on December 10th, you really have no excuse not to turn up. Please come celebrate (and say good riddance) to us as we say goodbye to China and hello to the real world. More details can be found here. XOXO

some more photos from the india trip – you can check out the FLICKR set too if you feel so inclined. still can’t get over the beauty of india, even though much of the country is plagued by bad infrastructure and litter, the way people take the time to infuse beautiful little details in everything is amazing. handpainted street signs, license plates, truck detailing, i am in love with it all!

slightly overwhelmed by the sheer number of photos we took while in India, slowly plugging through them & expect to be besieged by images over the next couple days. we spent time in bombay, maatheran, jodphur, udaipur, jaisalmer & delhi and loved every second of it! for such a large group (8 people), we managed fairly well and ate like champions, slept in the desert, rode camels, battled tuk tuks and had an incredible time. more coming soon, for now, happy year of the rabbit and i hope you & yours are safe, happy and sound. xo

i got a very old roll of film back yesterday and came out with these three pretty photos of shanghai. since i leave tomorrow morning for san francisco, i guess it’s appropriate that one of my last posts of the year be of this city that i love & hate. i’ll be posting once in a while during my trip, very much looking forward to being in the land of free internet and good customer service. big hugs + see you in 2011!!!

Big congratulations & happy 1 year anniversary to the team at Central Studios! We attended the birthday bash with high expectations — Central has gained a reputation over the last year of not only being an ace photography and production studio but also an amazing host of amazing parties, and this anniversary celebration was no exception. They went with a circus theme, complete with acrobatics, circus ring, pop corn vendour, face painting station & hot dog stand, not to mention three full service bars to ensure that none of their guests went thirsty. The music was fantastic, the decor was incredible and the whole thing went down without a hitch. Congratulations again to Rodney, Natasha et all, looking forward to all you guys accomplish in 2011.

loving the recent coolhunting post on montreal-based artist JON RAFMAN. it’s a big world out there and he’s poured over a zillion google maps streetview images to pull together an amazing collection of images. check out his tumblr for more. xx

i know i complain alot, but there tons of perks to living in asia. here are two:

1. pretec 4GB to-fu oyako credit card flash drives!
2. instax mini! i’m not sure if they’re available in the US yet, but they’re about $150 cheaper here than in japan. half the size/weight of the original with built in flash, self timer, macro lens, ability to darken/lighten your photos (haven’t tried this yet but there’s a bizarre L/D option), wahoo!

if you’re in shanghai, go to the electronics/nerd store in the shopping mall next to the zhongshan park metro. are those directions enough for you?! yay!
