YES, it’s been a long time. thanks for all your snotty little comments reminding me time and again to update this silly thing.

as you can see, there has been ALOT of activity over the last month or so. we did a bit of traveling – john and i went to korea and ate kimchi every meal for three days straight (the second photo is a shop in seoul that shares my korean name, heehee). we also went to zhujiajiao for a short overnight trip and a little zone friendly relaxation.

photographer todd selby (of THE SELBY) was in town last week shooting a louis vuitton something or other, so there were drinks and merrymaking at el coctel along with his reps from BA. was also good to see our friends from MISHKANYC in town, even though it was a short visit. finally, last week, i went to the first CSL shanghai match of the season, check out the insane police presence! i don’t think the game itself needed all that security, most likely just a prep for the expo.

i’m crazy busy at work, so this post is especially boring. STILL, here it is. this weekend i’m looking forward to eating, go-karting, karaoke’ing, rabble rousing. eeeeeeeeeh!

had such a great time at BADTASTIC VS BANANAS! we had a bit of a late start but the place was bumpin’ by the time it mattered and thanks so much to everyone who made it out. hurrah badtastic!!

very pleased to announce that the BADTASTIC DJs were voted in as one of shanghai’s best of 2009, at least according to Smart Shanghai. there’s no accounting for taste, but we are stoked and busy planning our next party. watch this space for more info!

know they are actually like 497 DJs, BUT they perform as one. And when they play, well it really does feel like one entity, a feeling of honest singularity. The transitions between songs are immaculately consistent between every DJ and they just drop shit… from NOWHERE… without even a hint. It’s kinda like Pearl Harbour but the aftermath is people thrusting their pelvises into the air. They play better music than most DJs I’ve heard in Shanghai (actually I don’t even think that they know other DJs in Shanghai exist). Oh, most of them are pretty hot and wear really nice clothes that I can’t afford.

the website has been updated, promo requests sent out, flyers made, facebook page posted, flickr pool filled… what else is there to do? oh yeah, and sammy made stickers and they look awesome. COME AND PLAY WITH US!

the opening night of BADTASTIC was an awesome, messy, drunken, hilarious success. thanks to everyone who turned up and danced and drank, the place was slaaaaamin’ and we had alot of fun. you can follow us on twitter and check out the flickr group for more photos. yay & see you all again next month!
